We had an excellent time in Seattle. Here’s some video of the show at substation

Thanks for reading. Were home now, I’ve got some new songs to record and ill be posting some short uodates over the next few weeks of that.

And here’s some pics walking round town in Seattle. Thanks to Jack Knight trio for letting us play with them. Cheers y’all. Back into the studio we go!

Portland is a very relaxing place. They have CBD infused IPA’s and eCh quadrant is pretty walkable. We hung out in southeast for the most part. Stopped by the peoples pig for some BBQ before the show and the food was amazing. Hazy/juicy IPAs are all the rage now so I threw down a couple of those while we had dinner with family.

We played a show at the Waypost with Green Hills Alone, some Portland homies that graduated from the Chico scene a long time ago. Their set was very enjoyable and even included a rendition of the cheers theme which reminded me if my Chicago days playing the gallery cabaret. The producer if the show really liked that I could play that song and that he got to sing it at the end of our exhausting 3 hour Friday night open mic. I think that’s how I got that gig actually. So it was special to hear that song. Our set was super fun. Here’s a video

I’m starting to really enjoy being able to actually hear myself on the microphone. I’m used to crashing drums and roaring guitars that have to compete with but now if I feel like the music is getting a little too hot, I’m just a small knob turn away from being right in the pocket. I love it. I could do this same set 200 nights in a row no problem.

Anyway, enough lead singer music talk, we’ve sold half our CDs, saw some old friends (Al, Mark, and Ryan) and the next day I got to catch up with my old pal Gary who I haven’t seen in almost ten years. It was amazing. After that the gang hung at my Tabor park

We watched the bears get out foxed by chicoan Aaron Rodgers – he looked like it was a walk on the park coming back from a 20 point lead with a bum leg. Pretty cool. Poor bears.

On our way to Seattle, stopped in Tacoma for korean BBQ. Last show of the tour is on wednesday at substation with Jack Knight.

Thanks!

We’re on our way to Seattle but we’re stopping in Tacoma for Korean food.

Woke up in Jacksonville, OR and cruised around town looking for coffee. Found a sweet place called pony espresso where we could sit outside.

Everybody in Ashland was wearing masks but folks in Jacksonville/Eugene don’t seem to mind the smoke as much. here’s a couple pics of the gang in Jacksonville.

And here we are in Eugene, OR where we played Sam Bonds Brewery. We were able to cruise the town a little before heading to the venue. Nolan basically gave us a tour if all the venues he’s played with his other bands.

‘played there with Perp D, did an outdoor acoustic set by myself right there, here’s where me, Pat Hull, and Jack Knight posted up for and hour and played munchkin (card game)’. We parked in front of this house in Eugene.

Were trying to get some T-shirts printed up so I made these logos in the car ride

And here’s some pics from the show at Sam Bonds. It went great! We sold some CDs and the other band (muscle beach petting zoo) rocked an instrumental punk/prog set after us.

Today we’re driving to Portland and hopefully it’s less smoky up there. Thanks for reading!

We set sail on tour yesterday after playing a hometown show in Chico with John Morris, Scout, and Barrel Aged at the Maltese in Chico – this show was great. I had to work the next day but it was still fun to play our second show ever at the Maltese with good pals. Scout also has the same sampler as me and we played the Chico bike festival together so it was great kicking it. I’m pretty sure we’ll see each other around a lot in Chico. I only caught John’s last two songs but he’s got a lot of potential. I hope he plays more often. Barrel aged was super funny. Rob the lead singer guitar player has really good songs and I want to hear their debut record before they get pretentious. I bet it will be raw as hell.

On to Ashland, a 3.5 hour trip that took us almost 6 hours because of this huge fire near Shasta. Because a truck jack-knifed on 299, the normal way to re-route off I5, there was so much traffic we actually went through Lassen. Here’s a visual

Crazy right?

It’s all good with me though. I prefer the country roads. Once we got to oberons in Ashland I was wiped. I had to work the morning after the Maltese show and we left at 1pm. It was 730 now and my brain was buzzing, ordered a pineapple IP from a brewery I never heard of, scarfed a Mac and cheese dog, then set up.

We had a crew of about ten people checking us out and two of them bought CDs so we must have done something right. One guy told me, ‘you guys made it into my CD collection’. Apparently he collects CDs from bands who come through oberons? Cool!

Anyway here’s a pic of the show.

And here’s a pic from a rest stop in Weed, CA – pretty smokey up there

We’re getting breakfast in Jacksonville today (thanks for letting us stay Adriane!).

On to Eugene, OR to play at Sam Bonds Brewery tonight!
